Obituary of Savannah Reed

REED, Savannah E. "Libby" Age 76 of Elmira. She went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 28, 2020. Libby was born September 13, 1943 in Dayton, OH. She moved to Elmira at the age of 11 from Beckley, West VA. Libby is preceded in death by her parents Murray June Harris and Della Mae Saunders; as well as her grandmother Scotia Pannell. She leaves to celebrate her life, her son Wilbert Reed Jr.; grandchildren, Mykah D. Reed, Amia E. Reed and Marcellus C. Reed; great granddaughter, Myleah G. Roman Reed; her brothers; Murray Harris III of Mirmar, FL, Anthony Brown, William Harris, Sr. and Gary Overstreet all of Dayton, OH, Jeffrey Brown of Norcross, GA; sisters Brenda Stewart and Linda Rose, both of Grand Rapids, MI, Frances Russell of Dayton, OH; and second mother Christine Harris. Libby was known as "Aunty Libby" to all her nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood kids. She had 15 years of service with Chemung County Transit. She was very active in her community; Libby was a lifetime member of the Queen City Lodge, IBPOE of W and enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family. You fought a good fight; sleep on Mom, take your rest. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan St., Elmira, on Saturday, March 7th 2020 from 1PM to 2PM. Libby's homegoing service will be held there at 2PM. Private committal and interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira.
