Obituary of Becky L. Lomnick

Becky Lynn "Beck-Beck" Jones-Lomnick, age 54, was born on May 8, 1965, at Brevard Hospital in Melbourne, Florida. The daughter of the late Willie Nathaniel & Gene Autry Jones, moved to Elmira, NY in 1969; where she graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1983. Becky worked various jobs, but her most recent was housekeeping at Arnot Hospital, where she was employed for the past 14yrs. Becky was a strong, hardworking, and boisterous woman that enjoyed making people laugh. Becky was outgoing and cheerful with a comical personality. Becky's great sense of humor, stubbornness, boldness, and outspokenness always left an everlasting effect on people. Becky was the life of a party. She enjoyed having fun, going to Tioga Downs, and being around her family & friends. Becky had a big heart and was always willing to give a hand. Becky enjoyed cooking, feeding you, and telling you "like it is" if she felt the need too because she didn't hold her tongue for nobody. Becky was family oriented and she loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends very much. Becky took her rest in Jesus on December 14, 2019. She was predeceased by her daughter Shanice Williams; her sister Deborah Wilson; niece Renee Jones; nephews Theodore Wilson Jr., Howard Jones Jr., Monttryal Steadman-Jones; and her canine friend "LuLu." She leaves to celebrate her life, her children Shondell Williams, Quayshawn & D'lonte Hubbard, Jameel Lomnick & his father Wilfred Lomnick; siblings Aurelia Driscoll, Harvey, Denise, Benjamin, Willie, David, & Barbara Jones; grandchildren, Sharayah Rogers, Jaheim Brown, Khymahnee McCormick, Marco & Matayus Williams; great grandson Za'Vion Wright; longtime best friend Dawn Thurston-Blair of 47yrs; good friend Mrs. Ruth Kirk; and a host all of nieces, nephews, friends & a loving work family. Family and friends are invited to visit Lake St. Presbyterian Church, 300 Lake St., Elmira on Friday, December 20th from 11 am to 12 pm. Her funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
