Faivre, Phyllis Lorraine (Welch)

Age 79 of Elmira Heights, NY. She was born September 13, 1940 in Elgin, Ontario, Canada daughter of the late Wintford and Beryl (Adrain) Welch and passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Elmira, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Allan, and brothers Cecil, Arden, and Arnold. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene; daughters Lynne (Tom) Menechella of Elmira Heights, Carol (Peter VanderMolen) Faivre of Waterloo, NY, Elaine (Joe) Thresher of Elmira Heights, and Jessica (Jeremiah) Hill of Walkertown, NC; grandchildren Abel (Vanessa Miller) Menechella and Amanda (Ian Mariasy) Menechella; Kathryn Faivre; Emily, Olivia, Ben and Riley Thresher; Trevor, Garrett, Colton and Kinsley Hill. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Ferguson of Kingston, Ontario, and sisters-in-law Geraldine Tucker of Elmira, Beverly Welch of Elgin, Ontario, Lila Welch of Kingston, Ontario, and Ruth Faivre of Parish, NY. Phyllis was employed by the Elmira Heights CSD and Sparkle Clean laundromat. She loved time at the family cottage in Ontario, walking her dog Abby, bowling, doing puzzles, and reading. Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life at the First United Methodist Church, 1034 W. Broad St., Horseheads on Sunday, October 27th from 1 – 3pm.
