She is the daughter of the late Daniel and Julia (Baron) Mysnyk and passed peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, September 29th, 2019. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aloysius Kamas in 1967; along with her siblings, Mary Gush, George and Steven Mysnyk; and her brothers-in-law, James Mucci, and John Gush.
She is survived by her children, Christopher (Susan) Kamas of Elmira, NY, Kathleen (Berry) Cokely of Geneva, NY, Gerald (Mary Anne) Kamas of Hagerstown, MD, Francis (Margaret) Kamas of Elmira, NY, and Kevin (Kelly) Kamas of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Christopher (Shannah) Kamas II, Peter Kamas, Ted (Bridget) Kamas, Carrie Cokely, Matthew (Lesley Duerr) Cokely, Stephanie (David) Gravitte, Michael (Kristin) Kamas, Laura (James) Freid-Studlo, Stephen (Katie) Kamas, Tim (Sandy) Kamas, Kristen (Daniel) DeMaio, Gregory Kamas, Brian (Alaina) Kamas, Elizabeth Kamas, and William Kamas; twenty-six great-grandchildren; sister: Tekla Mucci of Elmira, NY; sisters-in-law, Laura Mysnyk of Vestal, NY and Betty Lewis of Elmira, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Anna will always be remembered lovingly for her strong faith and involvement in her church and the community. It is with a full heart that we say farewell to our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School where she was a cheerleader and played clarinet in the band. She was a longtime member and employee of St. Casimir's Church where she was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and CYO coach. Anna was a member of the Wanda Circle, Rosary Sacred Heart Society and co-chair of the parish festivals. Anna enjoyed traveling on bus trips, especially to Atlantic City as well as other parish festival events. She was especially proud of her family and attended many, many of her grandchildren's school and sporting activities, cheering for them and their teams both here and away. She would tell you that she was a proud Ukrainian and will always be remembered as an avid NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills Fan.
