Obituary of Ulysses Roberson
ROBERSON, Deacon Ulysses (Ulee)
Age 88 of Elmira, NY. He was born September 18, 1930 in Keysville, GA, son of the late Dave and Katherine Roberson. He went home to be with his Lord on Monday, February 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Roberson; 4 daughters, Beverly (Herbert) Smith, Shirley (Marvin) Lee all of Elmira, Patricia (Kenneth) Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA, Sharon (Terrance) Greene and daughter-in-law Hollis Roberson of Elmira; 2 sons Anthony Roberson and Alonzo (Brenda) Roberson all of Elmira; 23 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; 2 special friends Rev. Johnny Vaughns and Willie Graham. He was predeceased by his son Ulysses, Jr.; daughter Josephine Roberson; brothers Lorenzo, Dave and Robert (RC) Roberson; sisters Grace Dixon, Ruby Paterson and Katherine Roberson. He worked at Kennedy Valve for over 30 years. Deacon Roberson was ordained as a deacon under Rev. John L. King in the early 60's where he was the chairman of the deacon board for several years. He served as deacon at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church up until his death. Special thanks to the DaVita Dialysis team; Dr. Alan Angell; Dr. Kristian Hochberg; Dr. Raj Gulati and staff; Dr. Mohamed Atwaibi; Dr. Lorrie Penfield and staff. Family and friends are invited to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, February 12th from 11am to 12 noon. His funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Johnny Vaughns will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to express sincere appreciation for all acts of kindness shown during their time of sorrow. May God bless you all.
