It's hard to believe you are gone. For the past 17 years, I've called you GG, because you were a 'Great' Grandma to my two children. You were the only GG they had the privilege of knowing and loving, as their other greats were already gone. And for 23 years before that you were simply Grandma. Some of my memories involve your very large purse, which you carried around, stuffed full of everything imaginable. I also remember the babushka's you wore to keep your hair neat and tidy, or your ears warm. I remember always looking forward to a card for the holidays, because I knew there would be a special gift from my Grandparents and I could visit Harris's and buy $1's worth of candy! I will always enjoy the pigs in a blanket and beef stew recipes that have been passed down from your kitchen, to Mom's, to mine...and hopefully to my children. I will remember fondly playing in the creek or jumping on the huge pillow in the yard when visiting at your home. I will miss your hugs and kiss, when we stopped to visit, and the conversations we had over the years. I will forever cherish the memories that I have of you being my Grandma for 40 years. I am praying that one day I see you again and that God will comfort those of us who mourn your leaving. You will be missed, but forever loved and held close as a treasure in our hearts! OXOXOX

Mamacita,
I was calling out your name last night. It grieves my heart that I can’t call you in the morning anymore. I know I wasn’t there everyday but I loved you with all my heart mama. I enjoyed the times that we laughed and when we went out to eat or just picked up lunch and ate it at home that was great.
I enjoyed our talks, and yes sometimes I tried to bully you to come out of the house to go for a ride, because I was concerned about you being in the house all the time. I especially enjoyed the times when I took you for a ride up to Seneca Lake just to watch the waves come in off the lake and the boats. I wanted you to have sunshine on your face and I wanted you to see all the changes that took place while you were in the house and didn’t go anywhere much for the last two years. You only left for doctor appointments.
I’m glad that you went out to Cracker Barrel with Frank, Karen, Stevie and me for lunch this past summer. I know it was hard for you to walk to the car but you did it and we were proud of you. I know you told me you had a really good time and I’m glad you did.
I love you mama and I’ll miss you but I’m glad you’re not suffering anymore. Give my husband a kiss and a hug from me. Your loving daughter Brenda.
