Obituary of Eloise Mouzon
MOUZON, Eloise Age 85 of Elmira, NY. She was born March 17, 1927 in Quincy, FL, daughter of the late Joe and Viola (Milton) Bryant and passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband Willie C. Mouzon in 1997 and brothers Wallace Johnson and Wilbur Bryant. Mother Mouzon was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1953 in a revival conducted by Elder Melvin Bailey at All Saints Home Church Of God In Christ. There she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was dedicated member for many years. To maintain unity with her sister, Mother Edna Taylor, she later joined Faith Temple Community Church and remained there until her illness confined her to the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Mrs. Mouzon is survived by her children, Wallace (Carol) Mouzon of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Jennine) Mouzon of Elmira, Renee Mouzon of Charlotte, NC; foster children Clarence Ragsdale of Stamford, CT and Debbie Murphy of Easton, PA; siblings Edna Taylor of Elmira, Altamese Johnson of FL and Willie Bryant of NC; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of foster children throughout the country as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Along with her husband, they cared for 43 foster children through the years. In 1985 they were honored as Chemung County's first Great American Family in recognition of their work as foster parents. Family and friends are invited to visit Faith Temple Community C.O.G.I.C., Harper St., Elmira on Thursday, February 28th from 11 am to 12 noon. Her funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Sam O. Pulliam will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Eloise through donations to Faith Temple Community C.O.G.I.C. Her family wishes to thank the 3rd floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care provided her during her stay there.
