Obituary of LaVerne R. Wolcott Sr.

WOLCOTT, LaVerne R., Sr. Age 77 of Millport, NY. He was born September 17, 1940 in Sayre, PA, son of the late Eugene and Estella (Hugo) Wolcott and passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 unexpectedly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon (Murphy) Wolcott; children and their spouses LaVerne R., Jr. (Butch) and Wendy Wolcott of Horseheads, Kevin and Patricia Wolcott of Timonium, MD, Dennis Wolcott of Blossburg, PA and Rebecca and John Scheepsma of Elmira Heights; grandchildren Kevin Wolcott, Jr., Danielle and Nicole Wolcott, Tara Dobson, Sabrina and Samantha Martone, Julie, Lindsay, Maureen, Mallary, John Jr. and Logan Scheepsma, Dakoda and Cheyenna Wolcott; great grandchildren Anthony and Aiden Welch, Bryson Edger, Lydia Jones and Faith Wolcott; brothers Duane of Athens, PA, Edward of Maine and Kenneth of Sayre, PA along with several nieces and nephews. LaVerne served in the U.S. Navy and was a career meatcutter for many years, working at many grocery stores in the area. He also processed deer during deer season. He enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets; fed his racoons every night; volunteered with the Arctic League, but most important to him was his family.
