DiPETTA, Matthew N.

Age 90 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born October 22, 1927 in Clairton, PA, son of the late Michael and Christine (Bernardo) DiPetta and passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Bethany Manor. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Donna (Borg) DiPetta; son and daughter-in-law Matthew R. and Angela DiPetta of Elmira; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Don Blide of Horseheads, daughter-in-law Lili DiPetta-Headley of Elmira; grandchildren Thomas (Angela) DiPetta, Lita (Jose) Mata and James DiPetta all of Horseheads, Nikkolas (Amanda) DiPetta of Midland, TX, Lydia (Chris Buck) Blide, Claire Blide and Madeline Blide all of Horseheads; great-grandchildren Liliana Mata, Dennis Mata , Dominik DiPetta and one due shortly; siblings Christina Mathews, Michael and Roseann DiPetta and Lucy and Ted Zaparzynski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving step-mother Mary DiPetta, son Dennis in 1990; siblings Rose Stuck, Anthony "Lefty" DiPetta, Connie Criss, sister in law Angeline DiPetta and nephews Michael and Anthony DiPetta along with many friends and loved ones who have gone before him. Matt was very well known for his sense of humor. He owned and operated Matt’s Service Center in Elmira for 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, March 31st from 5 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Monday, April 2nd at 9 am, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Casimir’s Church. Rev. Scott Kubinski, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery.
