Obituary of Jeffrey L. Riker
RIKER, Jeffrey L., Sr.
Age 64 of Horseheads, NY. He was born January 21, 1954 in Elmira, son of the late Richard and Alois (Palmer) Riker and passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at home after an extended illness. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Evadne. Jeff is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen; sons Jason and Jeffrey, Jr; grandchildren Eric, Gabriel, Alexis, Erika, Jacob and Grace; one great granddaughter Ava; siblings Georgianna, Mary, Richard (Canda), Joel (Pam), Joella and George “Hank” (Tracey); too numerous to mention aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeff seldom found time to enjoy the things he loved like fishing, deer hunting, long car rides as well as many amusement parks and the State Fair. He was a devoted employee of Top’s/P&C and was a dedicated member of the Elmira Heights Fire Department both for about 45 years. Jeff is sorely missed by all who knew him as a fun loving, kind, considerate person who loved joking around, smiling, or just lending an ear. Thank you, Jeff for letting us share the ride on your life’s journey. You’re always in our hearts, and will keep reminding us when we see people doing good deeds or sharing a kind word. Join the celebration of Jeff’s life on Sunday, March 18th at the Elmira Heights American Legion, 236 Scottwood Ave., Elmira Heights, from 2 to 6 pm, to share food and memories. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm.
