Obituary of Harry E. Tice
TICE, Harry E.
Age 85 of Crystal River, FL, formerly of Elmira. He was born March 15, 1931 in Elmira, NY son of the late Anthony and Frances (Fergusson) Tice and passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Roy Tice. Harry is survived by his loving partner and companion of 14 years, Delina Cabral of Crystal River, FL; daughters and sons-in-law Sherry and John Connor of Houston, TX, Sue and Mark Stedge of Elmira, Toni and Dave Prevette of Redondo Beach, CA; grandchildren Jason and Nathan Walburn both of Elmira, Nicky Whisonant of Austin, TX, Molly Downs of Miami, FL; 6 great grandchildren; brother Charles (Charlotte) Tice of Horseheads; Sister Ann (Richard) Dekoschak of Levant, ME; 3 nephews and 7 nieces. Harry graduated from EFA, Class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was an Honorable Disabled American Veteran. Harry attended Meat Cutting School in Toledo, OH in 1956 and retired from Spencer Show Corp/J. Baker, Inc. He was an active medal recipient at the Chemung Senior Games in 1992 and 1993 as a runner, free style swimmer and tennis. He was a member of the National Ballroom Dancing Society and loved jazz music (Lena Horne, Ella, Ray Charles, Satchmo). Family and friends are invited to his memorial service on Friday, April 21st at 10 am at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira. Deacon Bob Stowell, Harry's lifelong friend. will officiate. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. His family wishes to extend special thanks for the loving care received from Hospice of Citrus County, Lecanto, FL.
