Obituary of Margaret L. Symonds

SYMONDS, Margaret "Peg" Age 87 of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Saturday, February 6th, 2016. She was born on June 12th, 1928 to the late Harry and Leah Ward. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Symonds along with her brother and sisters. Peg is survived by her son Dennis (Amanda) Kirk of Elmira; daughters, Debra (Wayne) Davis of New Bern, NC, and Kimberly (Bernard Lunduski) Burris of Pine City; grandchildren, Ethan Kirk, Zachary and Ashley Hurd, and Christopher Burris all of Elmira, Joshua Burris of Washington D.C., and Benjamin Burris of Syracuse, NY; great grandson, Ryan Hurd; brother, William Ward of Rochester, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; along with her dear friend and loving caregiver, Ruby Adams. Peg was a member of Riverside Methodist Church. She retired from the Elmira Psychiatric Center. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., on Thursday, February 11th, from 5 to 7 pm. Peg's funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Pastor James Crupi, Officiant. Private interment will take place.
