Obituary of Michael A. Howe

HOWE, Michael A. (Papa) age 59 of Elmira, NY. He was born September 16, 1956 in Elmira, son of the late William, Sr. and Angeline (Cecce) Howe and passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long, hard battle with cancer. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Joseph. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Debra (Koellner) Howe; son, who he was very proud of, Jared Howe and adored daughter-in-law Casey (MacWhinnie) Howe, their children Aubrey and Axel Howe of Horseheads; his cherished daughter Caryn (Howe) Crandell and her husband Shaun Crandell, their son Memphis and his step grandchildren Landon and Ashlin Crandell of Elmira; siblings and their spouses Mary & James Patterson of NC, Barbara & Eric Sturm of NC, William & LouAnn Howe of Pine City, Debra VanZile of Elmira, Dominic & Debbie Howe of Horseheads, JeanAnn (Howe) Wolfe of Elmira; sisters-in-law Dawn Howe of Horseheads and Bertha (Howe) Green of TX; mother-in-law Teresa Koellner of Elmira; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses Katherine & Edward Zaldokas of FL, Diane & Robert Alington, James Koellner, Gloriann Koellner and Michael Koellner all of Elmira, Kenneth Koellner & Tonya Perry of Horseheads, John & Cora Koellner of Elmira, Susan & Paul Gugino of Brockport, NY along with numerous nieces and nephews and two very special friends Marilyn Aloi of Elmira and Charles Simpson of Lowman. Mike previously worked at LeValley-McLeod and currently was employed with I.D. Booth for the last 20 years. He was a loving and caring person who welcomed everyone into their home. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, October 30th from 4 to 7 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 1 pm in Ss. Peter & Paul Church.
