Obituary
Obituary of Deborah E. Woods
WOODS, Deborah Elaine (Davis),
Mrs. Deborah Elaine (Davis) Woods was born on November 9, 1951 in Jacksonville, FL to the late George Emmit Davis & Virginia (Ross) Davis. She was born in Jacksonville Florida where she spent her early years before moving to Staten Island, NY, and then later moving to upstate NY and finding a home in Elmira, NY. Deborah had two children daughter Latange “Nicky” Davis, and a son Jeremy Abrams. Deborah’s children were her world! She laid a foundation for her children as she played the part of mother & father. Deborah was a strong woman who believed in God. At an early age she was baptized at Pentecostal Church of God in Jacksonville, FL. She was a member of New Jerusalem Church.
Deborah met her husband Carlton T. Woods in 1985. They were together for 30 years & married for 19 years. Deborah was a dedicated and devoted wife who loved her husband. She was the epitome of a “good woman” as she took on many roles & tasks to make sure she was a good wife and her husband was taken care of. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for him!
Deborah loved to do things for others. She rarely ever put herself first in any situation. She was always thinking of the next person, she was self-less in all of her actions. Any time that you visited her you left with a big plate of food & a smile on your face! She was funny, loved to laugh, & had a great sense of humor. She wore many hats & played what ever role was necessary in life to help others. For many she was mom, aunt, Nana, sister, friend, and comforter who would share her wisdom in your time of need.
Deborah enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, sewing, making crafts, dining out, & was a true Floridian with her love of seafood!
Deborah died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Arnot Ogden Hospital.
Deborah leaves behind her loving husband: Carlton T. Woods, her daughter: Latange Davis, son & daughter in-law: Jeremy & Sandra Abrams, sister: Shamina Blandford, brother & sister in law: Devaron “Poppy” & Melissa Davis, grandchildren: Jalea, Janiyah, Zaria, & Alivia, stepchildren: Joseph, Carlton, & Selena.
