Obituary of Charles H. Lewis

LEWIS, Charles H. "Charlie" Age 71 of Elmira. Charlie passed away at home, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family: wife Carol Lewis; daughters and sons-in-law Lacinda & Robert Erle, Carol Ann Lewis, Linda Lewis & Ray Kelly; granddaughters Brytney Bonham, Catlyn O'Bannion-Lewis, & Alana Kelly. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Richard and Blanche Lewis and 3 siblings and is survived by 1 sister. He served in the Navy on the USS North Hampton CC-1 during the Vietnam War Era. After an honorable discharge, Charlie worked for Kennedy Valve for 42 years before retiring. Charlie loved playing cards and was always there to lend a helping hand. Charlie was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a proud grandfather. He will be missed dearly. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, February 6th from 5 to 7 pm. His funeral will follow at 7 pm. Interment will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
