Obituary of Barbara E. Broomes-Chamberlin

BROOMES-Chamberlain, Barbara E. Age 60 of Big Flats, NY. She was born May 14, 1954 in Cave Hill, Bridgetown, Barbados, daughter of the late Evelyn Broomes and the late Ivan Forde and died on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Barbara was predeceased by her father-in-law Julian Chamberlain. She is survived by her loving husband John E. Chamberlain and is sister of David and Samuel Broomes, Randall Forde and Nancy Wilson, daughter-in-law of Virginia Chamberlain, step-mother of Jayson Chamberlain and Shawn Chamberlain of Baltimore, MD, aunt of Brian, Paul and Greg Broomes and Adrian and Randy Forde, sister-in-Law of Cindy Hartman-Chamberlain of Dundee, FL, grandmother of Joseph and Abbigaile Chamberlain and friend of Lorna and Orville Carter, Kelly Meier, Gwen Geyer, Renee and many others. Barbara was employed as an Administrative Assistant at The Center For Disability Rights in Corning and at the University of the West Indies for 25 years where she was admired by her coworkers and many friends. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Ave. in Elmira, on Friday, January 16th from 12 noon to 2pm. A Thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of Barbara Euleta Chamberlain will immediately follow at 2pm. The family wishes to recognize the outstanding degree of care offered to Barbara and her family during her time at Robert Packer Hospital.
