Obituary of Mary Ellen Smith

SMITH, Mary Ellen Age 74 of Horseheads, NY. She was born April 9, 1940 in Elmira, daughter of John and Susie (Watson) Zuris, and passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Ray on April 15, 2014 and son, Timothy, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter Dianna Smith of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters Lindsay Lacey of NYC and Kristi Eustice of Phoenix, AZ; grandsons Joshua and Alex Smith both of Lowman; mother Susie Zuris of Horseheads; sisters Winnifred Sandlin of Alabama and Kathy Brotherton of Elmira Heights, NY. Mary was a loving and loyal caretaker of her mother for many years before God took her home. She was a selfless, caring, and compassionate daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
