Obituary of Rose M. Mitchell

MITCHELL, Rose M. "Rosie" Age 69 of Elmira, NY. She was born August 11, 1944 in Wellsboro, PA, daughter of the late Ambrose and Helen (Patt) Padleski and passed away Saturday, August 02, 2014 peacefully, with her family at her side, after a long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her father Ambrose Padleski; mother and stepfather Helen and Grant Makley and is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael T. Mitchell; daughters Tammy L. (Nichols) Hudik of Delray Beach, FL and Terri L. Nichols of Elmira; stepdaughter Tammy (Greg) Price of Ridgeville, SC; grandchildren Jonathan M. and Michael T. Hudik of Delray Beach, FL and Dylan and Cody Price of Ridgeville, SC; siblings Bobby Padleski of Las Vegas, NV, Ronnie (Hazel Tarbox) Padleski of Blossburg, PA, Kay Myers of Lakeville, MN and Debbie (Greg) Harding of Mainesburg, PA along with several nieces and nephews. Rose loved her grandchildren including her 4 legged grandchildren Mattison (Matty), Gracie Lu and Cooper too. She was a faithful Christian who believed in God; was a member of EFA class of 1962; an avid gardener, loved antiquing and owned and operated an antique boutique on Lake St. in Elmira called "Second Hand Rose". Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, August 5th from 5 to 7pm. Her funeral and committal services will follow at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Rosie through donations to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
