Obituary of Christine Jenkins

JENKINS, Christine Age 81 of Horseheads, NY, formerly of Queens, NY. She was born January 17, 1933 in Sparta, GA, daughter of the late Leonard and Irene (Jones) Howell and passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at home. She was predeceased by her daughter Irene Jenkins Kemp, son Walter Jenkins, Jr., sister Mary Lee Howell and brothers Charles, William and Curtis Howell. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Walter Jenkins; daughter Shirley Jenkins Coleman of Elmira; brother Leonard Howell of Fort Washington, MD along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jenkins retired from Pickford Mills in Brooklyn, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, May 1st from 11 am to 12 noon. Her funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Rev. Gerald Glover will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
