Obituary of Mary J. Burt

BURT, Mary J. Age 95 formerly of Lowman, NY passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband Eldon in 1974 and is survived by her children and their spouses Patrick Burt and Marty Kalkbrenner of Schenectady, NY, Phyllis and James VanGalder of Hope Mills, NC, Michael Burt and Patty Bruce of Sarasota, FL, Shirley and Robert Hendershott of Horseheads; grandchildren Tony (Mieko) VanGalder of Okinawa, Japan, special granddaughter Traci (Robert) Lowman of Lowman, Kari (Joe) Sullivan of Hope Mills, NC, Scott (Cathy) Starkweather of FL, Michael Burt of FL and Melissa Burt of New York, NY; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burt was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish and a long time parishioner of St. Cecilia's Church. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, February 12th from 4 to 6 pm. Her funeral service will be held there on Thursday, February 13th at 11 am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Mary's family thanks the 4th floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care they provided her.
