Obituary of Rev. Francis L. Mather

Age 90, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 5:50 pm surrounded by his family. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 71 years, Shirley (Newland) Mather; 6 beloved children and 5 in-laws, Mark (Terry), Tim (Kate), Julie, Andrew (Kim), Jodi (Tony) and Paul (Jennifer); along with 35 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. His struggle is over and he is rejoicing before the throne of God he loved and served. Family and friends are invited to visit New Life Elmira Church 325 Lake Street Elmira, New York on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Reverend Fran's Celebration of Life will be held there at 2 pm. His son, Pastor Paul Mather will officiate. Interment will take place privately at Elk Creek Cemetery Borden, NY at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Rev. Francis L. Mather may be directed to the Food Pantry at New Life Elmira Church. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Mather family
