Obituary of William Lewis Knoll

Age 75, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Horseheads, NY. William was born November 22, 1948 in Wellsville, NY to Charles L. and Lillian I. Knoll. He graduated from Horseheads High School in June 1966 and began working at Hardinge Brothers as the internal mail carrier and eventually went to the assembly line. He was employed by other manufacturers, and retired from Thomas and Betts. William (Bill) was involved in breeding and flying Roller pigeons. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his brother, Frank R. Knoll and sister, Beverly J. Reese. He is survived by his son, Scott (Elizabeth) Knoll, grandson, Justin (Vanessa) Knoll with son, Kyler of Las Cruces, NM, brothers, Charles E. (Brenda), Horseheads, NY, and Richard E. Knoll, Elmira, NY; special friend, Beverly Cooper, Elmira Heights, NY. William will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends. We would like to thank the staff of the Bethany Skilled Nursing Facility for the excellent care and patience shown to William and his family. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside services to be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery 715 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 am. Pastor Art Evens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Association. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Knoll family.
