Obituary of Hollise Roberson
Age 66, of Waynesboro, GA, was born March 7, 1958 to the late James and Moudie Bell (Wilkerson) Golden. Hollise was raised by the late James and Lueella Golden (uncle and aunt), of Waynesboro, GA. Hollise went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning of July 31, 2024.
Hollise graduated from Waynesboro High School (The Purple Hurricanes) in 1976 and shortly after she migrated to Elmira, NY where found love true love with Ulysses Roberson, Jr. Hollise and Ulysses married in 1978 and through their union they bore two children. Hollise was employed at LRC Electronics for many years in addition to devoting her time to traveling with her children.
Hollise was predeceased by her loving husband Ulysses Roberson Jr., her in-laws Ulysses, Sr. and Mary Roberson, her three brothers, George Mathis, James Golden Jr., Robert Lee Golden and her two sisters Retha Graham, Maebelle Rene Golden, niece Ashley Wells and nephew Dallas Dixon. Left to her memory is her loving, faithful daughter Tekeisha Roberson, her compassionate and adoring daughter-in-law Tawana Grant-Roberson, her son Ulysses Smokey Roberson III, granddaughters Mahogany and Imani Grant, her special brother Willie Graham, her brother John Henry (Mary) Golden of Claxton GA, sisters Emma Wells, of Elmira, NY, Mary Golden of Hephzibah, GA, Florence Golden of Waynesboro, GA and Patricia (Andrew) Jefferson of Augusta, GA, and a host of other beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Church Family.
Hollise was a loyal, kind and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and friend. Hollise had an extensive bell collection. She enjoyed baking and had many hobbies like crocheting, and solving puzzles. Hollise was a movie and wrestling fanatic. To know Hollise was to love Hollise and you could identify her jovial laugh in a crowded room. Hollise will truly be missed. Hollise was a faithful member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church until her illness.
Family and friends are invited to visit Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan Street, Elmira, New York on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Viewing 11:00am to 12:00pm. Hollise's Celebration of Life will be held there at 12:00 pm. Pastor Johnny Vaughns officiating. Interment and Committal Prayers will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hollise's family thanks St. Joseph's Long Term and Skilled Nursing Staff for the dignity and respect shown to Hollise. Thank you for your patience, kindness, empathy and compassion. Your love and kindness made Hollise feel comfortable, loved and at peace.
