Obituary of Stanley Kohan
Stanley "Stosh" Kohan
Age 85 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born September 23, 1938 in Elmira, son of the late Peter and Mary (Paluskiewicz) Kohan and passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at home. He is survived by several cousins and his dear friend Mary Anne Smith. Stosh was a 1957 graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School. In 2000 he was inducted into the Elmira Heights Sports Hall of Fame. He played baseball for 4 years as a right handed pitcher that lead his team to 3 league championships. Although he was recruited to continue his path to play major league baseball, he returned home to take care of his father. He retired from Westinghouse Corp. Stosh spent his days at the swimming pool, at the library and in his garden. Family and friends are invited to his graveside service, on Wednesday, June 26,2024 at 11 am in St. Peter Paul's Cemetery {Mount Zoar Entrance} Elmira, NY Deacon David will committal prayers and blessings.
