Obituary of Lindsay Elaine Devens

DEVENS, Lindsay E. Age 31 of Auburn, NY passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 unexpectedly at home. On a beautiful spring day in May of 1982, just as the lilacs bloomed, Lindsay came into our lives. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Edward and Helen Devens and maternal grandparents Alex and Mary Speen. She is survived by her son Nathan Devens; mother and brother Julie and Michael Speen-Devens of Horseheads; father Robert (Debbie) Devens of Ovid, NY along with several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend Connie Root. After serving as a combat medic in the U.S. Army, Lindsay completed her studies to become and RN at Corning Community College. Family and friends are invited to her Divine Liturgy on Tuesday, January 7th at 11 am in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Batcho, Celebrant. A Celebration of Lindsay's Life will continue in the church annex after her Liturgy. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Lindsay through donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Horseheads Police Department or Tanglewood Nature Center.
