Obituary of James F. Swasta

SWASTA, James F. "Boss" Age 63 of Elmira, NY. He was born August 25, 1950 in Oil City, PA, son of the late Michael and Mary (Gaiser) Swasta and passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 unexpectedly at home. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Young) Swasta; children Julie Hicks and Janet Stansfield both of Elmira; grandchildren Ashley (Matt Terris) Hicks, Thomas (Hilary Mosher) Hicks, James (Aliyah Arnold) Hicks and Jessica Stansfield; great grandsons Bentley "Buddy" Hicks and Luke Hicks all of Elmira; brothers Michael (Mary) Swasta of Horseheads and Ronald (Sherry) Swasta of Montgomery, TX; sister Cathy (Marlin Diefenderfer) Schroth of Breesport along with several nieces and nephews. Jim retired from Beach Tree Care Center in Ithaca and Kennedy Valve in Elmira, He was a member of the Elmira Eagle's Club and an avid NASCAR fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, December 26th from 4 to 7 pm. His funeral service will be held there on Friday, December 27th at 11 am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
