Obituary of Phyllis J. Fairbanks

Age 93 of Elmira, NY. She was born June 5, 1930 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Carl and Josephine (Sullivan) Bauman and passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Fairbanks, Sr. and daughter Phyllis Burns. She is survived by her children Sonya Hastings of TN, Melody Eames, Barbara, Robin, Robert (Darlene) and Tammy Fairbanks all of Elmira; many grandchildren including Jan Huyck, DJ Dobell, Barbara, Bobbi Jo and Katie Fairbanks and Carrie Vieria; great grandsons Michael Grow and Bishop Dobell; brothers Douglas and Duane Bauman; sister Diane Baker all of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was an Avon representative for many years. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, October 11th from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
