Obituary of James Dennard

Jimmy Dennard passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 very unexpectedly. Jimmy leaves to cherish his legacy and memories his loving wife, Shirley; sons, James Jr., DeShawn Hollis and Damond Odneal; daughters, Michelle Hicks, and Pamela Perry; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Barksdale, Bessie (Douglas) McGraw, Jacqueline (Joseph) Allen and Roberta (Albert) Berry; special beloved nephew and nieces, Walter Dennard III, Laura Dennard and Valerie Dennard who he loved as his very own. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Dennard Sr. (Maggie Dennard) and Ruth Bell (Roosevelt); brother, Walter Dennard Jr.; sisters, Lily Ruth Smith. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at the Faith Temple COGIC 725 Harper Street Elmira, NY 14901 on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm. (Noon) Pastor Kale Mann will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira, NY at 2:00 pm. Pastor Mann will conduct the committal prayers and the Chemung County Veterans Honor Guard will accord Military Honors to Mr. Dennard.
