Obituary of Gene Carlton Benson

Gene C. Benson Age 80 of Gillet, PA and Daytona Beach, FL, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at home in Fl. He was born August 10, 1942 in Gillett, PA, son of the late Elmer J. and Catherine (Baker) Benson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Elmer J. Benson, Jr., sister Barbara Congdon and step children Penny and Ricardo Darcangelo. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Louise; sons Kevin Benson of Elmira and Marc Benson with is son Kyle of Williamsport, PA; stepchildren Eugene Gallow of Elmira, Peter & Ann Marie Darcangelo of Gillett, PA, Mariann Darcangelo of Daytona Beach, FL, Luann & Tim Pelot of Horseheads, Doreen Post & Gary Beard of Gillett, PA along with several grandchildren. Gene retired from Hardinge, Inc. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the NY Yankees and Giants. On his bucket list were a trip to Alaska and a glider ride, both of which he did. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, April 28th from 4 to 6 pm. His memorial service will follow at 6 pm.
