Obituary of Gilda Campanelli

Gilda (Cieri) Campanelli Age 92 of Elmira, NY. She was born May 8, 1930 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Filomena Cieri and passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Deacon Michael J. Campanelli, Jr. in 2003. She is survived by her children Steven (Jane) Campanelli of Elmira, Daniel (Debbie) Campanelli of Horseheads, Michael R. "Mic" (Roseann) Campanelli of Hammondsport, NY, Laura (Kip) Lowe of Rapid City, SD, Nancy (Michael) Murphy of Pine City; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. Gilda was a communicant of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish. She coordinated class reunions for EFA class of 1948 every 5 years from 1968 to 2008; volunteered with the Samaritan Center for 23 years; coordinated the Food Pantry at St. Cecilia's Church for 10 years; was a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies and St. Stephen's Diaconal Assoc. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, April 20th from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Friday, April 21st at 9:30 am, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church. Rev. Patrick L. Connor, Celebrant.
