Obituary of Debbie A. Smith

Debbie A. (Benyo) Smith Age 63 of Erin, NY. Debbie passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 16, 2023, after an extended illness. She was lovingly surrounded by her 3 kids and family members. She was born November 16, 1959, in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Walk) Benyo. She is survived by her children Shannon Smith of Perrysburg, OH, Kristy Smith of Elmira and Corey Smith of Erin; brother and sister-in-law Stephan and Barbara Benyo of Big Flats; sister and brother-in-law Susan and David Rigby of Parma Heights, OH along with several nieces and nephews. After retiring from Corning, Inc., she went on to work at Kohl's, where she considered her coworkers as family. Debbie had a great sense of humor and could light up a room with her smile. She was passionate about her pets and had a green thumb when it came to caring for plants. She also had an eye for interior design and could turn any room into something spectacular. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, March 25, from 2 to 4 pm. A Memorial service will follow at 4 pm.
