Obituary of William Edward Bigg
BIGG, William Edward, Sr.
Age 78 of 80 Country Estates Dr., Horseheads, NY and San Juan, Puerto Rico was received by the hands of his Lord and Savior after an extended illness on Monday, October 7, 2013 at home in Puerto Rico with Beverly, his wife of 54 years and daughters Kimberley and Cindy at his side. Bill and Beverly renewed their wedding vows on September 5, 2013. His strong will to live; unwavering faith of God and the love and prayers of many family members and friends carried him through a life well lived. His gift of joy shown through his smile, laughter and the brightness of those big and bright blue eyes of his, will never be forgotten. "Bill" was born in Elmira, NY on November 30, 1934 to the late Edward H. and Rebecca F. Bigg. Bill is survived by his loving wife Beverly K. Bigg; brother Gerald (Joan) Bigg of Johnson City, NY; children William (Dawn) Bigg, Jr. of Colorado, Pamela Logan of Virginia, Cynthia (Michael) Apgar of North Carolina, Scott (Debbie) Bigg of Elmira, Kimberley Shanks of Utah and Janice Burns of Horseheads; close family friend Bernie Packard of Campbell, NY. Bill was predeceased by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Leo T. and Leona H. Kline; brothers-in-law Leo Thomas Kline, Jr., George Kline, Louis Brink and Richard Kelley; sisters-in-law Stella Lola Kline and EmmaLou Brink. Mr Bigg is also survived by Beverly's siblings/spouses, Barbara (Paul) Howard, Bernard (Carol) Kline, Carol (Ronald) Mills, Patricia (Edward ) Sassano, Thomas (Stephanie) Kline along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved their "Poppy"; many nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Bill" and many lifelong and dear friends; especially Donald and Jan Wheeler and Robert and Annette Ricks. Bill worked for Thatcher Glass for 31 years, until its closure. Bill and Beverly were owners/operators of Biggsy's Corner and Biggsy's Restaurant in Hanover Square for many years. Bill was a very hard working, devoted and much loved man. He lived life with honesty, truth and integrity. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A private service will be held in Puerto Rico. William's wishes are that any donations go to Joel Olsteen Ministries and the ASPCA as they were a tremendous inspiration and impact in his life.
