Obituary of Katie L. Dunn

Katie Lynne Dunn passed away at age 37 after battling cancer on July 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Katie was born and raised in Elmira, NY and went to Southside High School. Katie loved being a mother and being "Granny" to her grandson Leo. She was a funny, kind, caring person who was beautiful inside and out. Katie loved to have a good time with family and friends and always had the biggest, best smile. In the end Katie won her battle with cholangiocarcinoma and she is now free of pain and her sick body. Katie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Glenn and Geraldine Dunn, paternal grandparents Daisy Ordway and Robert Colbath, and her father William Colbath. Katie is survived by her mother Michele (Ted) Hill; sister Kristen Bailey; brother Jeremy (Ashly) Dunn; sister Amanda Hodgson; children Mackenzie (George) Felt, Morgan Johnston, Madison Gillette, Keira Gilette, Elijah Gillette; grandson Leo Johnston; best friend Kim Gilbert; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, close cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, July 19th from 10 am to 12 pm. Katie's funeral service will be held there at noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
