Obituary of Helen M. Waters

WATERS, Helen M. Age 86 of Elmira, NY. She was born January 19, 1927 in Elmira, daughter of the late Alex and Catherine (Petryk) Tarby and passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Waters in 2009 and is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law William and Dana Waters of Big Flats, Thomas Waters, Jr. of Horseheads; granddaughter Anna Marie Waters along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Waters retired from the Super Duper Grocery Store. She was a loving mother. When her children were growing up, the Water's house with the pool was the place to be. She enjoyed (and was well known for) baking and entertaining the neighborhood children. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, July 23rd from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Committal prayers and interment will follow. Her family thanks the 3rd floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care they provided her during her stay there.
