Obituary of Geraldine A. Christensen

CHRISTENSEN, Geraldine A. Age 89 of Elmira, NY. She was born February 6, 1924 in Elmira, daughter of the late William and Edna (Lambert) Kennedy and passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at home. She was predeceased by her husband Howard Christensen and daughter Patricia Ann Johnson and is survived by; children and their spouses, Mary and Daniel Gray of Elmira, Louis (Wanda Kleinschmidt) Johnson of Elmira, Paul Johnson of Elmira Heights and Robert and Diana Johnson of Big Flats; step children and their spouses, Howard Christensen, Jr. and James Christensen both of AZ, Sandra and Robert Peterson of Horseheads, Carol and Joseph Comfort of CA and Cindy Christensen of Ithaca along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Christensen was employed with Sears. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, June 27th from 11 am to 1 pm . Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Deacon Joe Erway will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Geraldine through donations to CareFirst, 11751 E. Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830. Her family thanks the staff on the 5th floor SNU and 2B at St. Joseph's Hospital for the wonderful care given her during her stay there.
