Obituary of Andrew Quinitchett

Deacon Andrew Quinitchett, aka Boo, departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home in Elmira, New York. He was born on August 22, 1961 in East Patchogue, Long Island, New York to Mr. Andrew Quinitchett and Mrs. Bertha Hutley. Andrew was predeceased by his father, as well as his stepfather, Wesley Mann. Andrew was a member of Faith Temple Community Church where he served on the Deacons Board and as a member of the Lions of Judah. Andrew worked diligently to earn his diploma. He was trained in the culinary arts. Over the course of his life, Andrew held all kinds of jobs to include, chauffeur, cook, cleaner, assembly man, and auto auction driver. For a number of years, Andrew was the lead barber at Heavenly Touch barbershop on Market Street in Elmira, New York . His sons believed that he was the only Detroit Lions fan in the State. During basketball season, Andrew could often be found relaxing and enjoying a New York Knicks game. He was also a fan of the New York Yankees. Andrew loved to be around people, laughing and making jokes. He loved to dress. He loved his entire family. Andrew was always trying to "give a word" to anyone who would listen. Andrew was known to be quick to jump in the car and take a ride or a quick trip. Andrew leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Anita Quinitchett of Elmira, NY, whom he knew for over thirty years; loving mother, Mrs. Bertha Hutley of Metter, GA; grandmother Arnied Hutley of Riverhead, NY; siblings Lonnie Quinitchett of Bellport, NY, Dawrence (Celestien) Hutley of Millen, GA, Nanita Quinitchett, Anthony (Mara) Quinitchett, and Lance Quinitchett all of East Hartford, CT, Lamont (Marlene) Quinitchett of Windsor, CT, Crystal Kelly of Atlanta, GA, Wesley Mann of Riverhead, NY, Tonie Langhorne of Mastic, NY, Pamala Mann of FL, Selina Mann of VA, Kasheen Mann, of Elizabeth, NJ, Willie Mann of Hempstead, NY, Mark Mann of Savannah, GA, Leonard Mann and Ajee Mann of Metter, GA, Jalila Mann of Philadelphia, PA; children Andre and Nyson Quinitchett of Elmira, NY, Aaron Quinitchett of Horseheads, NY, Ebony Ferebee of FL, Andrew Quinitchett of Lumberton, NC, Zakria Cousins of Bellport, NY; grandchildren Zalaya, Nadia Quinitchett both of Horseheads, NY, Kyrin Quinitchett of Greenville, NC and Shamira Rich of Bellport, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit Faith Temple Community C.O.G.I.C., 765 Harper St., Elmira on Tuesday, April 27th from 10 am to 12 noon. His funeral service will be held there at noon.
