Obituary of Marcus J. Jones
Marcus Javaughn "Pooh" Jones, was born on May 1st, 1990, at Arnot Hospital in Elmira, NY. The son of Barbara "Paula" Jones & Michael "Peanut" Walker attended Elmira Free Academy High School and BOCES Vocational School, where he learned welding. Marcus worked various jobs, such as Elmira College Café & his most recent Demet's Candy Factory.
Marcus was a beast when it came to boxing. He loved boxing and always had the dream of becoming a professional boxer. Marcus had a talent of drawing and he enjoyed traveling and watching sports. Marcus was funny and had a great sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh, when it came to him cracking jokes, roasting people, or just busting a freestyle rap. Marcus enjoyed playing around and wrestling with the kids, especially his nieces, nephews and little cousins.
Marcus had a smile that would light up a room. His laugh was contagious and memorable. Marcus was loved by so many people for his sweet and caring heart. He was always willing to give a hand and help others. Marcus was such a free spirit and outgoing person. He loved to be surrounded by his family and friends.
Marcus passed away unexpectedly on March 10th, 2021. Marcus was predeceased by his grandparents Willie N. & Gene A. Jones and aunt Becky Lomnick. Marcus leaves to celebrate his life, his mother Barbara Jones & father Michael Walker. His sisters Sequena Jones & Jessica Smith; brother Verdell "Lamar" Jones. His nieces Jamarzea & Jariah Herman, Autryoniah Smith-Mack, Amari Smith, Alani & Alanna Jones; nephews Auturius "T-bone" Smith-Mack, Jahmeek "Boonkie" Johnson, & Verdell Lamar "LJ" Jones Jr. His loving aunt Aurelia Driscoll; uncles Benjamin, Willie, & David Jones. Along with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
