Obituary of Cornelius J. Moore

MOORE, Cornelius J. Age 82 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born November 2, 1930 in Elmira, NY, son of the late William, Jr. and Gertrude (Waddell) Moore and passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Conway Medical Center, Conway, SC. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa M. Moore on January 24, 2013; stepson Lynn H. Davis and sister Carol Griffith. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Carol A. Rockwell of Elmira Heights, Sandra L. and Roger Kubler of Conway, SC, Sheryl A. Moore and Michael Assad of Clarksville, TN along with 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Moore was employed with General Electric in Elmira and then retired from the Horseheads School District where he was a bus driver. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during Korea. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, June 9th from 1 to 3 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 3 pm. Deacon Dan Hurley will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
