Obituary of Doris J. Speck

Age 68 of Elmira. Doris was born on November 14, 1952 and passed away at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on November 29, 2020. She was the daughter of her late parents Ralph and Gertrude Keener and also pre-deceased by her sister Carol Keener. Doris is survived by her husband Paul Speck, daughter Michelle Elston, and son-in-law Bruce Elston Jr. Grandchildren Jeremy and Mindy Speck, Cassandra and Kevin Whitaker, Victoria Woodard, and Casidhe Elston. Great grandchildren Colin, Austin, Kinsley, Asher, and Oliver. Also survived by her sister Marcella Lougher, brother Robert and sister-in-law Brenda Keener, sister-in-law Marcia Grunwald, along with several nieces and nephews. Doris was previously an employee of Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Central Hots, RKB, Brady Supply (Warehouse Manager), and sound engineer for her husband's local rock band. At the family's convenience, there will be a private burial and internment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, N.Y. Doris's family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the ER and I.C.U. at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for the care that they provided Doris. Their empathy and caring work truly earns them the right to be called "Heroes". Doris deeply loved her family and friends. She also loved to bake, cook, and especially loved her animals (her babies). She touched so many more lives with her generosity, wisdom, selflessness,, sense of humor, and love than she could have ever realized. She will be truly missed but, her memory will live in our hearts always.
