Obituary of Harold L. Wead

WEAD, Harold Age 71 of Horseheads, NY passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 after a courageous battle with declining health. Harold is survived by his brother Norman (Bonnie) Wead, Sr. of Beaver Dams, NY; sisters Lucille (Fred) Arndt of Elmira, NY, Ellen Wead of North Carolina, and Mary Wead of North Carolina; four daughters, Lynnette Garner of Corning, NY, Yvonne (Wead) Pryslopski of Corning, NY, LoRinda (Kevin) Wescott of Caton, NY and Karen (Rodd) Hoffman of Chesterfield, VA; as well as his beloved ten grandchildren; Matt (Amanda) Garner, Kaitlyn (Trevor) Tumia, Kyle Pryslopski, Tabitha Garner, Electra Hoffman, Shania Hoffman, Devin Westcott, Kassandra Hoffman, Quintin Hoffman, and Harley Pryslopski as well as his great granddaughter Bayleigh Tumia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Bernice (Gardner) Wead, sisters Fran (William) Simons, Anna Mae (Al) Mothershed, Geraldine Wead, Dorothy Wead and brothers Charles and Robert Wead. Harold owned and operated Harold's General Trucking; he was a hardworking man, dedicated to his family and many customers, always putting others first. He was dearly loved by all of his family and his customers. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Harold's life at the Hornby Fire Station, 4840 Country Rte. 41, Beaver Dams, NY on Saturday, May 11th from 1 to 4 pm with memorial service to follow at 4 pm. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations in Harold's name to the Robert Packer Critical Care Unit.
