Obituary of Patrick J. Nelson

NELSON, Patrick J. Age 63 of Horseheads, NY. He was born March 26, 1953 in Elmira and passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 unexpectedly at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents Tex. E. and Mary Nelson. He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Michael Patrick Nelson of Elmira, Lindsay (Eric) Upham of Hector and Aaron (Jessica Comstock) Paul of Horseheads; grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Ryan Patrick and Bella Maxine Upham; siblings Sally (Les) Richmond of Cortland, NY, Renie Nelson and Tex M. Nelson both of Elmira Heights, Kathy (Jacque) Wilkens of Watkins Glen and David Nelson of Elmira Heights; mother-in-law Betty Lewis of Horseheads; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Coleen Hammond, Larry (Linda) Gessi, Joe Gessi all of Elmira and Susan (Bill) Speed of York, PA along with several nieces and nephews. Pat retired after 25 years as a Corrections Officer with the Elmira Correctional Facility. He was an avid Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, April 3rd from 2 to 4 pm. His memorial service will follow at 4 pm. Deacon George Welch will officiate.
