Obituary of James F. Neish

NEISH, James F. Age 94 of Horseheads, NY. He was born July 6, 1921 in Elmira, son of the late William Neish, Laura (Moore) Neish and Nora (Wolcott) Neish and passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Bethany Manor. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Jane (White) Neish in 1999; son James David Neish Wilkinson, grandson Keith Edward Seymour, granddaughter Tammy Lynn Seymour, brother George Wolcott and sisters Myra Wilkinson and Helen Reiter and is survived by his 6 daughters Mary Lou Kelly of Elmira, Rosalie Pautler of Berne, NY, Nancy Lee Wilkinson of Horseheads, Sylvia (John) Sullivan of Horseheads, Virginia Rausch of CA and Donna Neish of Horseheads; brothers Bobby (Arlene) Wolcott of Williamsport, PA and Ethel Betty Warren of Hammondsport, NY along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren (5 generations). Mr. Neish was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII where he received many medals including the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He retired from Teamsters Union 529 where he was former president and trustee. He was a member of the First United Church of Horseheads; the Moose Club; American Legion Post 154 and was a 33rd Degree Master Mason, Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, March 20th from 5 to 8 pm. His funeral service will be held there on Monday, March 21st at 10 am .Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. His family thanks the staff at Bethany Manor for the wonderful love and care they provided him.
