Obituary of Rodney F. Denson, Sr.

DENSON, Rodney F., Sr. Age 74 of Elmira, NY. He was born October 16, 1941 in Sayre, PA, son of the late Francis and Wenonah Denson and passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility after an extended illness. He is survived by his children Rodney F. Denson, Jr. of Elmira, Lisa (Fred) Kroplin and Mark (Ronda) Denson all of VA; grandchildren Bob (Tammy) Beauchamp of GA, David Beauchamp of NY and Greg Beauchamp of NC; siblings LeRoy (Corrie) Denson of Elmira, Burt (Jeanne) Denson of Hammondsport, Warren Denson of Cayuta, Wenonah Bedient of Killeen, TX, Ruth Hall of Seneca Castle, Millie (Doug) Rarick of Elmira and Tom Hackett of Olympia, WA; in-laws William and Mary Gallow of Van Etten along with several nieces and nephews. Rod was employed with WEHH radio, then with WSYE and WETM TV for 27 years in many capacities and then retired from Elmira College after 15 years. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, January 30th from 1 to 3 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 3 pm. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Van Etten at the convenience of the family.
