Obituary of Dorothea C. Wagner

Dorothea Charlotte Wagner July 23, 1924-July 29, 2020 Dorothea Charlotte Wagner passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Dorothea was born July 23, 1924 in Bad Homburg, Germany to Anton and Louise Wagner. Dorothea is a WWII veteran, and came to America in 1955, living the remainder of her life in Elmira NY. Dorothea was a part of a big family all predeceased; brothers Karl, Fritz, Arthur, George; sisters Suzanne, Margaret, and Hildegard with a surviving sister Marion living in Texas. Dorothea is predeceased by her daughter Petra Rohrer and her surviving daughter Heidi Hicks (married to Chip Hicks) living in Georgia. Dorothea had 3 grandchildren, Shannon, James, and Richard, and three great grandchildren Joseph, Charlotte, and Caitlyn Albrecht. Dorothea was a seamstress by trade, was employed by Sears, was an Interior decorator for Ethan Allen, and was owner operator of the decorator shop in Elmira. Dorothea was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a life-long member of the Elmira Wesleyan Church. She will be missed by all that knew her.
